Music Photography Workshop
This workshop provides an immersive introduction to the fundamentals of photographing live music performances. Participants will learn how to work effectively in the pit, build rapport with performers, and capture the raw energy of the show. Key topics include group lighting, posing musicians, and industry tips for success. The workshop also covers essential post-production techniques, including editing photos and developing a compelling portfolio to increase visibility in the field. Throughout the course, students will engage in practical exercises and hands-on shooting opportunities, developing their technical skills and artistic eye for dynamic, engaging images. No prior experience is necessary—just a passion for music and photography.
My teaching philosophy centers on fostering real-world skills through active participation and experimentation. Students learn best by doing, and I encourage them to embrace their passion and curiosity. I aim to create an environment where they feel supported to push boundaries, ask questions, and grow confidently. I emphasize the importance of building authentic relationships with artists and understanding the nuances of live performance photography. I also focus on helping students develop their visual voice while mastering industry-standard techniques. Ultimately, I want students to leave with the skills, confidence, and a clear direction to pursue their goals in the competitive world of music photography. By cultivating their craft and encouraging a professional mindset, I help them see photography not just as a technical skill but as a powerful tool for storytelling and connection
